Keep the Arena in Natomas

In response to Mayor Johnson’s arena task force deadline of 12/24, a development group calling itself the Natomas ESC (Entertainment Sports Complex) Partners has submitted a proposal for an entertainment and sports complex located on the city-owned 100-acres situated north of the current Arco site. The complex includes a new arena and entertainment zone, hotel and green tech research park next to a repurposed Arco Arena.

The Natomas Chamber of Commerce supports the proposal as the best alternative for Natomas and the city of Sacramento. Natomas is the only location adjacent to 2 major Interstate freeways, served by 4 freeway interchanges with local access roads designed to handle arena traffic, has easy access to the airport and regional bus and light rail. In tough economic times, the more economical plan to utilize the current "shovel ready" arena site with existing infrastructure should be given highest consideration.
